The CSX8 is the tablet at the centre of the Leica X-PAD workflow: a rugged 8-inch Android 12 tablet built to run X-PAD and drive a GNSS receiver or a total station through a full day of survey work. It is built for the job site rather than the office. The 8-inch WUXGA screen is sunlight readable at 500 nits under Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and fourteen physical buttons, six of them user-programmable, keep the software one tap away instead of buried in menus. It takes a 1.5 metre drop onto marble, is rated IP66 and IP68, and works from -20 to +60 degrees C. It stays connected and stays powered. Dual-frequency GNSS is built in, along with 5G and LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, USB-A and USB-C. A 32 megapixel rear camera with dual flash and an 8 megapixel front camera cover the imaging and video work, and the exchangeable 8200 mAh battery carries a full day, with up to 15 hours of operation. At 730 g and 19.5 mm thick it is a tablet you can hold on a pole or carry in the same bag as the instrument. Because it runs X-PAD, one interface and one data format carry across the instrument you are holding. A GS11 GNSS smart antenna, a GS05, a TS13 robotic total station: the same workflows, the same HeXML data, the same office companion in X-PAD Fusion.
