Micrometers & Adapters
Optical micrometers are precision metrology attachments used to measure lateral or vertical deviations from a line of sight. By displacing the line of sight using a plane-parallel glass flat, these instruments allow for sub-thousandth-of-an-inch accuracy when paired with instruments like alignment telescopes, theodolites, and tilting levels.
What we carry
531900 Micrometer Series
- Translates the line of sight literally with an accuracy of ±0.0005” using an optical flat.
- Cast aluminum housing has a 1.655” opening to fit the telescope barrel of all Brunson optical tooling transits and levels.
- Adapters allow this micrometer to be used with all variety of theodolites.
531600 Micrometer Series
- Allows monitoring of two dimensions simultaneously.
- Has two optical flats mounted in an aluminum housing so that their axis of rotation are at 90° ±15 arcseconds, and converts any transit level into an alignment telescope.
- Each micrometer translates the line of sight with an accuracy of ±0.0005”.
- Available in English and Metric units. Cast aluminum housing fits the telescope barrel of all Brunson optical tooling transits and levels.
531526 Adapter Series
- Allows mounting a micrometer on any instrument with a barrel diameter of 2¼”.
- (3) nylon setscrews secure the adapter to the barrel of the instrument without marring.
- Available in English and Metric units with or without Micrometer Adapter Assembly.
