Invar

Invar is a specialized nickel-iron alloy (36% nickel, 64% iron) prized in metrology and surveying for its uniquely low coefficient of thermal expansion. Essentially, Invar does not significantly expand or contract when the temperature changes, making it the gold standard for high-precision measurement artifacts used outdoors or in varying industrial environments [1, 2, 3].
What we carry
Invar System Kits
- The 590803 and 590804 Invar Kits are designed as multipurpose kits
- Often used as scale extension.
- Inar has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion which effectively eliminates changes in length due to handling or environmental changes.
- The 590803 is manufactured to its stated length within ± 0.0003”.
- The 590804 is manufactured to its stated length within ± 0.0001”.
